Item Loan Limits
Physical Item Loan Limits
- 5 items out at a time (for the first 30 days)
- 25 items out at a time (after first month)
- 1 Library of Things (LOTs) item can be checked out at a time, per adult library card
- 1 California State Library Parks Pass can be checked out a time, per adult library card
- 5 new video games and new movies can be checked out a time
- Physical Item Loan Periods
- 3-week loan period for books, audiobooks, vinyl records and Parks Passes
- 2-week loan period for Library of Things (LOTs) items
- 1-week loan period for video games, movies and Lucky Day items
Digital Item Loan Period Limits and Periods
- Check out, download or stream digital materials including eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines, music, TV shows and movies on the Libby, Hoopla and Palace apps with your Placentia Library card and PIN, which is usually the last 4 digits of your phone number. Access these and our other digital resources at ebooks.placentialibrary.org
- eBook, eAudiobook and other digital materials loan limits and loan periods are set by the vendor
Borrowing Policy
The Placentia Library District will no longer collect overdue fines. An item that is 30 days overdue will become a "Lost" item
Accounts that have a balance higher than $10 will not be allowed to borrow library items until balance is under the stated amount
$1 re-shelving fee for request/reserve items cancelled after reserve shelf placement or not picked up after 7 days

Renewals
Renewals are available online on our catalog, or you may call (714) 528-1906. To log in to your account on the catalog, enter your library card number and your PIN, which is usually the last four digits of your phone number.
Patrons may renew eligible items twice unless the items are requested by another patron.
*If a borrower does not manually renew an item, and there are no requests for that item, it will be automatically renewed up to two times. Borrowers are notified by email when an item automatically renews. Auto-renewals require that the patron have an email address in their account. If the patron does not have an email address, their items will not be renewed automatically.
Book Drop
Book drops are located in the library and outside.
- Inside Book Drop: Located on the right-hand side of the Information Desk
- Outside Book Drop: One outside bookdrop is located in the wall to the left of the main entrance of the library, and a second book drop is located in the parking lot.
