The Hangar Makerspace

Updated Hangar Model Starting March 1st, 2024:

Create, tinker, and craft in the Hangar makerspace. Stop by the Hangar to enjoy weekly activities for all ages, or use our self-service makerspace equipment which includes a Cricut, sewing machine and embroidery machine.

Use of the makerspace equipment is open to adults and teens ages 14+ with a valid library card, ID, and signed waiver. *No advance reservations available – use of the equipment is on a same day, first-come, first-served basis. Equipment and materials provided free of use with a library card. Sign in to use the equipment at the library’s Information Desk. For questions, please email us at hangar@placentialibrary.org.

Get assistance for technology and computer questions with our librarians. Learn how to format a resume, get started on the computer, create an email account, use Chat GPT and other AI services, and more. Stop by with your device or learn about a selected topic.

This drop-in, basic technology use workshop is not intended for in-depth, individualized assistance. Ages 14+.

Join us for a series focusing on the basics of creating your very own cosplay props using EVA foam! Learn the materials, tools, and techniques needed as we recreate some of your favorite props from movies, video games, and pop culture. Materials will be provided. Space is limited. Sashiko Mending

Sashiko Mending event, Feb 9th, 2-3 p.m., for adults. Held at the Community Meeting Room, Placentia Library District.

Join us on November 24th in learning about the art of Sashiko hand mending! Program begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Hangar. Materials will be provided. As space is limited, it is first come, first serve.

Sewing 101
