Voiza Arnold
Voiza attended Kirkwood High School in St. Louis, Missouri, Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, and University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana where she received her Ph.D. in Speech Communication. She and her husband, Joe, moved to Placentia in 1973 where Joe began his career at Cal State Fullerton and Voiza took a position at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, CA. She remained at Rio Hondo until she retired in 2009, serving on the English and Speech faculty, as Dean of Communications and Languages, and as Vice President for Academic Services. Joe continued his career at Cal State Fullerton, serving on the faculty of the Theatre and Dance Department, Associate Dean of the College of the Arts, and finally, as Dean of the College of the Arts, retiring in 2015.
In retirement, Joe and Voiza have been active travelers, especially in Europe. Voiza enjoys baking, reading and family activities. They are both active supporters of the arts at Cal State Fullerton, serving on the MAMM Association for the Performing Arts. They are both patrons of the Placentia Library and had the honor of having a passport office named after them in 2023. Voiza is an active member of Chapter HU of P.E.O. and is also a member of the Assistance League of Fullerton.
